I love to see the temple!

My ward here in Tehuacan had a temple trip to a nearby temple in Oaxaca! The trip was about two hours long and we took a big charter bus together to get there. It was a great experience to get to go to the temple and worship there, especially since it was all in Spanish! I love the temple & I love the church! It's amazing how it's exactly the same everywhere you go.

After the temple the other teachers from ILP and I decided to explore Oaxaca, because it's a big city with a lot to offer.  We spent the night is a hostel which cost about $10 USD per night, and it was reasonably nice for being that cheap.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera in the hostel for most of the first night, but I did manage to get a few good snapshots. The next day we went to visit the Arbol de Tule, which is a ginormous tree. I heard that it takes 30 people to wrap their arms around it all the way. After that we went to church for just one hour. And then it was off to some amazing ruins!

best part about our hostel - DOGS! :)

Fly like an Eagle

This Monday was Mexican Constitution day, which meant I didn't have to teach my classes. Since I had a free day my family decided to take me on a secret adventure. When they woke me up in the morning they told me that we were taking a trip and that I should bring my camera. When I asked Gaby and Daniel where we were going they told me we were going to a museum. So we hopped in the car and started a 2 hour drive to the state of Veracruz. We drove on some really high mountain roads which were super foggy and even switched driving directions at one point.

Once we arrived I found out that we were not actually going to a museum, but instead we were going to a National Park! When we arrived the first thing we did was go up to a booth and the suited us up to go zip lining!!

Daniel, Gaby, and me ready!

this was about the time I told everyone I was scared.

No turning back now.

If you look very closely - I'm that little pink dot flying through the air.

The instructor rode with me on the way back.
I don't look super happy in the picture, but I swear I was.

Hey friend!

I made it out aliveeeee!
After zip lining we decided to hike up and down the path at the park. It was a beautiful rain forest.

Smile Gaby & Gaby!

After the park we were all pretty tired and hungry so we decided to stop at a little restaurant for some food. The ladies there were really nice and came up and talked to us a lot. They were very interested in talking to me because they noticed I didn't "look like the rest of the family". Apparently I stick out like a sore thumb.
